Hello My Name Is...
Mr. Coleman
Greetings families and 5th graders. My name is Mr. Coleman, and I have the esteemed privilege of teaching 5th grade here at East Clayton Elementary School. Students, I am elated that I have the opportunity to meet you, work with you, and help prepare you for middle school, high school and beyond. This is my 8th year as an educator and my 1st year teaching here at East Clayton. A fun fact about myself, I attended East Clayton Elementary School from Kindergarten all to the 5th grade. Connecting with the professionals this building produced is what inspired me to become an educator. I knew as early as the 2nd grade that I'd be doing this the moment I had the chance. Currently, I hold a Bachelor's Degree from Walden University, I am in the final stretch of coursework on my Master's degree and I intend to stay informed and in school until I achieve a Doctorate Degree. My education allows me to remain the best I can be for each of the students I serve. It is my goal to make my classroom a safe haven for all who enter, I truly believe that I have one of the world's greatest responsibilities as an educator. 5th graders, this year will be challenging, it will push to limits you've never known or seen before, but I promise it will be fulfilling, it will be inspiring, and it will prepare you to be the best you that you can be. Our class will be known as, "Simply Great". This year, I'm expecting greatness out of you, I won't settle and I won't allow you to settle. I'm looking forward to a prosperous, safe, mind blowing, memorable year. Parents, I literally check my E-Mail 1 million times per day. Your child's success is dependent upon open communication between you and I so please do not hesitate to reach out to me concerning their progress and their standing in my classroom. I get to serve the leaders of tomorrow and I'm excited about it. Let's have a great year!
